The Historical Evolution of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University
June 1964, Guangzhou Yuancun Workers' Clinic was established.

1June, 965, Guangzhou Yuancun Workers' Hospital was formally established.

1969 Hospital is owned by the municipal government and renamed as Guangzhou Sixth People's Hospital.

1973, renamed Guangzhou Yuancun Workers' Hospital.

1984, named Guangzhou Sixth People's Hospital.

In 2007, the hospital system was transferred to Sun Yat-sen University and became one of the eight affiliated hospitals directly under Sun Yat-sen University. It was named the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, also known as the gastrointestinal anorectal hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.

On 2011June 24th and September14th14th, Guangzhou Municipal Health Bureau and Guangdong Provincial Health Department successively agreed to include Zhongshan Sixth Hospital in the new round of regional health planning and set it as a tertiary hospital.

On June 6, 20 12, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the listing of the hospital, 140 square meters hospital complex was officially opened, with 1200 beds. At present, the only 640-slice CT that can realize real dynamic volume marks that the hospital has truly entered the ranks of advanced medical care in China, which has also become a new development opportunity for the hospital.
