In order to cultivate middle school students' interest in astronomy and enhance their understanding of astronomy, the 2023 Astronomy Summer School for middle school students was jointly organized by the Astronomy Department of Peking University Institute of Physics, the Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics of Li Kewei, Peking University, the Astronomy Department of Beijing Normal University, the Astronomy Department of Tsinghua University, the National Astronomical Observatory of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Beijing Planetarium. The time is set from July 30th to August 2nd, 2023. National enrollment for summer school 120 people.

First, the enrollment target

High school science students, like astronomy, outstanding achievements in mathematics, physics and chemistry, excellent academic performance.

Second, the registration method

1, summer school online registration. Please log on to the online registration platform (click to enter), register according to the online requirements, fill in all registration information, upload scanned copies of relevant certification materials, print, stamp and scan the Peking University 2023 Summer School for Middle School Students (Astronomy) Registration Form. (You need to submit the original summer school application form when registering)

2. Online registration time: June 202311-June 20, 2023.

Third, the selection process.

Students' application materials will be reviewed by experts. Those who pass the exam will be qualified as students, and the results can be inquired on the online registration platform in early July 2023. Eligible students can print the registration notice from the registration system.

Four. Activity arrangement

I reported on July 30, 2023 and left school on the afternoon of August 2. Check-in place: Peking University.

The activities include: subject navigation, lectures by famous teachers, station visits, astronomical nights, knowledge contests, teacher-student exchanges, student friendship, etc., to increase students' understanding and interest in astronomy.

The tuition fee for the summer school is 3,900 yuan/person, including accommodation, meal cards, T-shirts, materials, transportation expenses during the activities, accident insurance premiums and expenses for various activities (excluding the round-trip transportation expenses from the student's place to the place where the summer school is held). Students who are qualified as students will pay online according to the tips of the registration system.

Students with financial difficulties can apply for subsidies according to the family economic situation issued by the school or street, and the organizer decides the list and amount of subsidies according to the application materials.
