Dentists should go to a medical university or college with a major in stomatology. At present, the universities offering stomatology in China include: Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Shandong University, Zhengzhou University, Tongji University, Jilin University, Suzhou University, Xi Jiaotong University, Jinan University, Lanzhou University, Chongqing Medical University, Dalian University, Dalian Medical University, Capital Medical University, China Medical University, Shihezi University, Shanxi Medical University, Yanbian University, Hangzhou Normal University and so on. Students majoring in stomatology mainly study the basic theory and knowledge of stomatology, receive training in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of oral and maxillofacial diseases, and have the basic ability of diagnosis, treatment, prevention and health care of common oral diseases and frequently-occurring diseases.

Main courses: clinical pharmacology, otolaryngology, oral anatomy and physiology, stomatology, prosthodontics, etiology, orthodontics, endodontics, preventive stomatology, oral molecular biology.

Main practical teaching links: including graduation practice of stomatology, stomatology and prosthodontics, which is generally arranged for 36-42 weeks.
