What is an ordinary university?
Refers to full-time university, which is different from part-time education, adult education, TV University and so on.

Ordinary institutions of higher learning, referred to as "ordinary institutions of higher learning", are established by the Ministry of Education and the people's governments at or above the provincial level (including provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government).

A school in charge of full-time higher education. Enrollment is conducted through formal examinations such as the national entrance examination for doctoral students, the national unified entrance examination for master students, the national unified entrance examination for colleges and universities, and the college entrance examination organized by provincial administrative departments.

Educational institutions that implement general higher education include: full-time universities and colleges, higher vocational and technical colleges/vocational colleges, and junior colleges. Colleges and universities mainly implement undergraduate education; Higher vocational and technical colleges/vocational colleges and junior colleges mainly implement junior college (higher vocational) level education.
