First, separate them with punctuation marks. There are two situations, one is comma separation. For example:
1. It's hard to imagine how Mozart created such passionate and youthful works in such a difficult living environment, such as March of Turkey, The Wedding of Figaro and so on. (Yuan's Art Criticism on Mozart's Aesthetic Thoughts in Music Creation, May 2009)
The other is separated by a pause. For example:
2. (Yu Hua) 1978 began to write, and 1987 published Going Out at Eighteen and Noon Whistling in the Northwest Wind, which began to establish the status of a pioneer writer in China. His main works are novellas A Reality, Things Like Smoke, Novels Alive, Xu Sanguan Selling Blood, Brothers and so on. (Yu Hua's "I'm as timid as a mouse" author profile children's literature 2009.4)
Secondly, do not use punctuation. For example:
There is nothing wrong with spreading fables, such as Waiting for the Rabbit and Carving a Boat for a Sword, but students don't have to recite them in class. (Pang, "Don't let the" expansion "change its taste" Primary School Teaching Design 2009.2)
Thirdly, the same set of books or the same magazine, different volumes have different usages, some are separated by punctuation marks, and some are not. For example:
4. Remind parents not to forget happiness, draw your life roadmap, make the container bigger, realize death, and remind you that the ways to get inner peace and happiness in life are all in it. (Read Liu Gui's "Protect Your Three Millimeter Universe ―― A Letter to Sam", Hunan Education 2009.338+0)
5. Suhomlinski, an educator in the former Soviet Union, only focused on the word "education" all his life, and published monographs such as One Hundred Suggestions for Teachers, Dedicating My Whole Heart to Children, Pavlis Middle School and Birth of Citizens. (Liang Chu's What kind of experts are needed for education, same as in March 2009)
Magazines such as Jiangsu Education, Guangdong Education, Primary School Chinese Teachers and Primary School Teaching Reference all use and don't use punctuation in this way.
Some are the same book, and there is also such a situation of two deposits. For example:
6. Chinese comprehensive practical activities. Such a series of homework can be arranged after teaching a series of texts such as The First Apricot Flower, Night at the Zoo, Prometheus Stealing Fire, and Teacher of Humanity in Volume 7 (Chen Ying's Primary School Teaching Reference for Making Students Real Readers, February 2009).
7. I often hear the teacher say that the old textbooks are difficult to teach. In particular, texts with a long teaching background, such as Little Match Girl, Fanka and Memories of Sixteen Years ago, tend to be hot and cold in class. (Huang Xinliang, "You have to" walk in "to" read it ",ibid.)
Have a plenty of the same article, usage is inconsistent. For example:
8. So many children's teachers tell their children to read the three-character classics, disciples' rules, augmented scholars' works, strange books and poems, and then recite ancient books such as University, The Doctrine of the Mean, The Analects of Confucius and Mencius.
……
Needless to say, there used to be hundreds of books in Mongolian for children. For example: 1. Mainly for literacy teaching, such as saint, hundred family names, money, etc. ); (2) Educational, such as "Famous Masters" and "Long Wen Whip Shadow"; (3) Pay attention to the education of children, such as Disciples Rules and children's language; (4) Focus on educating women (such as Daughter's Classics and A Thousand Words of Boudoir Training); ) ..... With the children's time today, it is impossible to read all of them, and it is impossible to read more. What's more, some people also added Laozi, Mozi, Chu Ci, Jin of Song Dynasty, etc. It is kind and admirable, but there are too many titles listed for children to learn and recite widely, without taking into account that children need a lot of time. (Luo Chenglie's thoughts and suggestions on children's reading classics at present) Xi 'an Analects of Confucius School promotes Chinese cultural multi-intelligence education https://hi. Even in the same paragraph, some words are used differently before and after. For example:
9. Xianke Wei Zhi ... 1876 goes to the United States. After returning home, he wrote a collection of political essays, A Letter to America and short stories, For Bread and Osso, to expose the hypocritical democracy of American bourgeoisie and the tragic situation of Polish immigrants. Since 1883, the trilogy of historical novels, with fire and sword, Riptide and Mr. Volodyevsky, have been published one after another, reflecting the Polish people's struggle against foreign aggression in17th century. (Nine-year compulsory education Six-year primary school Chinese Book 10 "Teachers' teaching books? Young musician Yang Ke? Resources "People's Education Press, 2002, 65438+February)
What's more, even in the same sentence, there will be inconsistent usage. For example:
10. The pause (comma) can also be omitted because the title of the book has distinguished the boundaries of several titles. For example, Lv Shuxiang's China researcher's current task: As far as the literature in the late Zhou Dynasty is concerned, the language of The Analects of Confucius and Mencius is different from that of Zuo Zhuan, the language of Zuo Zhuan is different from that of Yang Gongzhuan and Gu Liangzhuan, and the language of Zhuangzi is different from these books. (Hui Yuan, Dictionary of Punctuations? Pause between titles "Shanxi People's Publishing House1March, 994).
For example, in the second sentence of the last paragraph of Example 8, the title of the book is used continuously in many places. Except for two of them (Saint Amethyst and Baijia surname), they are not used, which is even more incredible. In fact, the use of other punctuation marks in this sentence is also confusing, but it is not the scope of this article, so it doesn't matter. )
From these examples, we can see that the use of punctuation marks in the titles that are used continuously is indeed varied and confusing: in form, some titles have no punctuation marks (such as Example 3, Example 4, Example 7, etc. ), some with pause marks (such as example 2, 5, 6, etc. ), some with commas (e.g. 1, etc. ), and some with pause marks are all gone at once. On the scope of use, it covers a wide range, including in different books, in the same book (species), in the same article, or even in the same paragraph or even the same sentence; Some are old, some are today; Some are general reading materials, some are teaching materials and even some are dictionaries; There are adult books and children's books; Some are printed, and some are published on the Internet.
Which of these usages is standard? At present, there is no unified regulation, and there are still different views in academic circles. On March 1990, The Usage of Punctuation (Language Publishing House) revised and published by the State Language Committee and the Press and Publication Administration did not specify whether punctuation should be used between titles. In our opinion, there is no need to use punctuation between titles. The main reason is: 1. Punctuation marks are mainly used to separate languages, indicating the pause, mood and intonation of languages, or the nature of words, or some logical relationship between languages. Here we might as well regard it as the relationship between punctuation marks (because language and words have been enclosed by the title of the book), and there is no difference in tone and intonation between them; As for pause, you can pause a little between titles, with or without punctuation. As for the nature of words, the use of book titles refers to the names of books (or articles, newspapers, etc.). ). As for logical relations, they are generally parallel. 2. The title of the book and its contents have formed a relatively complete whole. The title of the book has clearly separated the names of books (or articles, newspapers, etc.). ), and the boundaries are clear. Whether punctuation marks are used between book titles will not affect the reading and understanding of the language. 3. The function and usage of the book title are basically single, that is, it means the name of the book (or article, newspaper, etc.). ). In fact, there is no difference between using punctuation marks and not using punctuation marks between book titles, such as 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. Removing punctuation marks between book titles is no different from the original use of punctuation marks, and the meaning has not changed at all, which will not affect the reading and understanding of language and characters, and will not cause confusion or misunderstanding. In that case, why don't we abandon the complexity and simplify it and adopt a usage without punctuation?
In fact, as early as 1990, in Mr. Su Peicheng's Lectures on Punctuation Usage (Atomic Energy Publishing House), he thought: "When several titles are used together, there is no need to pause in the middle, which saves time and space, and secondly, the layout is clean and beautiful." In 2000, Mr. Su said: "The use of punctuation marks should pay attention to economic principles, and it is not necessary to use them whether they can be used or not." Punctuation between two quotation marks or between two book titles? Language Construction 2000. 10), Punctuation Dictionary edited by Hui Yuan (Shaanxi People's Publishing House1March 1994), and the usage of punctuation edited by Wang Hui and Wu Bianying (Rural Reading Press 65438+20051October).
Although so many experts and scholars have put forward similar views, the use of punctuation marks between book titles is still so confusing that it still goes its own way and does not attract enough attention. To this end, the author puts forward it separately here for your discussion again. At the same time, it is hoped that the national standard "Usage of Punctuation Symbols" will be revised as soon as possible to formulate a rule for the language phenomenon of book titles, so as to standardize and unify the use of punctuation symbols, and also to have a standard for teachers in the front line of teaching.
