Where is the First Military Medical University?
The First Military Medical University is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, which is now Southern Medical University. Southern Medical University, formerly known as the First Military Medical University of Chinese People's Liberation Army, was founded in 195 1, 1979 and was designated as a national key university. In August 2004, it was transferred to Guangdong Province as a whole and renamed Southern Medical University.

The school is the only medical college in the key construction universities of high-level universities in Guangdong Province, the first batch of universities in China, the only university built by a "Ministry" in Guangdong Province, one of the first eight universities in China that offer eight-year undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in clinical medicine, and the first batch of pilot universities in China that educate and train outstanding doctors.

Southern Medical University has 10 first-level disciplines authorized by doctor's degree and 8 post-doctoral mobile stations, among which the number of first-level disciplines authorized by doctor's degree in medicine ranks second among independent medical colleges in China. It has five national key and cultivation disciplines.

Our school is one of the 13 universities that pilot eight-year medical education in China. It is also the only independent medical college that provides eight-year medical education. It is the first batch of "excellent doctoral education and training" pilot universities in China, and has established friendly and cooperative relations with 6/kloc-0 universities and scientific research institutions in 20 countries and regions.
