The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, formerly known as Chengdu Institute of Telecommunications Engineering, was formed by the merger of Jiaotong University, Nanjing Institute of Technology and South China University of Technology. It was founded in 1956, and 1960 was listed as a national key university. 1approved by the state planning commission in 1997, 1 1 became the key university in the "21/project" initiated by the first batch of special funds from the central government.

In September, 20001year, the Ministry of Education signed an agreement with the Sichuan Provincial People's Government to jointly build the University of Electronic Science and Technology, and our school entered the ranks of key universities in the national action plan for revitalizing education in the 2 1 century ("985 Project").

University of Electronic Science and Technology of China is the first batch of universities in China with the right to confer doctoral and master's degrees, the right to examine the qualifications of professors and the first batch of post-doctoral mobile stations. It is the earliest national key university directly under the Ministry of Education with electronic information science and technology as the core, engineering as the mainstay and coordinated development of economy, management and literature.

At present, the school has 36 doctoral programs and 62 master programs, with complete disciplines, strong strength and distinctive features in the field of electronic information. All six two disciplines (physical electronics, circuits and systems, microelectronics and solid-state electronics, electromagnetic field and microwave technology, communication and information system, signal and information processing) in the two first-level disciplines of Electronic Science and Technology and Information and Communication Engineering are national key disciplines, with 28 doctoral programs. The school has 7 postdoctoral mobile stations, and all doctoral programs recruit postdoctoral students.

The vast majority of young teachers have doctoral and master's degrees. The school has long insisted on sending young backbone teachers to famous universities at home and abroad for further study and training, ensuring the sustained and stable development of the teaching staff.
