Many parents may think it's too late, but I think it's never too late to learn Chinese characters. I didn't learn calligraphy when I was a child, but my handwriting was good when I was a child, and I won an award. But at one time, ballpoint pens were popular in our school, so my handwriting is ugly now.
But they reminded me not to write with such a pen, and I just wouldn't listen. I thought I wrote fast, so I wrote wildly in order to finish my homework. Now that I think about it, I actually regret it. If I hadn't done it then, I wouldn't have to spend so much time practicing calligraphy now.
So I really think that writing also needs a good habit, and I can't give up my font in order to achieve my goal. Ten years old, still acceptable, with a certain degree of self-control. Practicing calligraphy is actually very boring, and you need to sit still. Many people just can't calm down.
In children's lives, it is impossible to have only these extra lessons. I think we should cultivate children's own interests. Chinese characters need to be practiced, but other training courses are more suitable. If the child has this will, it is ok. If not, it's best not to force them.
In fact, practicing calligraphy is also the teacher's guidance. When he has mastered a certain way, the child will take the initiative to learn. It's no use practicing at a young age. I think ten years old is a good choice. But if your child likes writing since childhood and can sit still, you can send him to the first grade to learn Chinese characters.
