Shenyang University of Technology is an interdisciplinary research and application-oriented university, which was founded in 1949 and renamed Shenyang University of Technology by Shenyang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Technology in 1985. Originally an institution affiliated to the Ministry of Machinery Industry, it was established by the central and local financial allocations from 1998. Mainly managed by Liaoning province, it is listed as the first-class in the province in the construction of "double first-class".
The school consists of Shenyang Central Campus, Xingshun Campus, National University Science Park and Liaoyang Branch, with a total floor area of1589,900 square meters and a building area of 769,200 square meters. The main campus is located in Tiexi District, Shenyang, which has the reputation of "Oriental Ruhr".
