His research orientation insists on taking figure painting in Jin and Tang Dynasties as the positive source, pursuing the pulse of figure painting modeling in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and advocates modeling and creation from the west to China, taking China as the body and integrating French and Western painting. In September, 20001year, he was admitted to Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, studied for a doctorate, studied under Professor Liu Jude, and engaged in painting creation practice and comparative study of Chinese and Western arts. Continue to focus on color painting, while doing ink painting, try to use the formal language of western modernism to structure pen and ink, and use the poetic spirit and humanistic feelings of China traditional culture to form ink image and spiritual direction. Graduated in June, 2004, and obtained a doctorate through doctoral thesis defense. Based on the methodology of western structuralism and morphology, the doctoral thesis examines the evolution of Chinese painting forms since Wei and Jin Dynasties, trying to establish a unified structural system to explain the self-composition mechanism of Chinese painting structural system, the adjustment mechanism of historical evolution, the generation mechanism of language forms and the deep structural guidance mechanism of artistic spirit. The paper lasted for two years, and wrote 1995 to study and think about Chinese painting in the doctoral study stage. The thesis won the excellent doctoral thesis of Tsinghua University University.
Since July 2004, he has been teaching in the Department of Industrial Design of Beihang University.
