20 10 March, under the personal care and guidance of Ma Biao, Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, ASEAN College of Guangxi University for Nationalities was formally established. Li Zhaoxing, former foreign minister, served as the first honorary president of the college, and Professor He Longqun, then president of Guangxi University for Nationalities, served as the first president of the college.

Member of the Humanities and Social Sciences Committee of the Ministry of Education and convener of the Department of International Studies, President of the Southeast Asian Society of China, distinguished professor of Xiamen University and scholar Zhuang of Guangxi University for Nationalities concurrently serve as the first academic vice president of the college. The current president is Professor Xie, president of Guangxi University for Nationalities, and Professor Ye Xingyi, secretary of the Party branch and executive vice president of the college.

At present, the college has three two disciplines master's degree authorization points, namely, international relations under the first-level discipline of political science, ASEAN studies under the first-level discipline of foreign languages and literature, and national and regional studies, and is building doctoral and master's degrees in the first-level discipline of regional ethnology.

Scientific research team

There are 33 full-time teachers in the college, including 22 full-time teachers and 20 with doctoral degrees, accounting for 90%. % full-time teachers, 9 professors (researchers), 8 associate professors (associate researchers), 77.3% full-time teachers with senior titles, and 7 non-common language information workers from ASEAN countries, are committed to information platform construction and information consulting services.

The College adopts a combination of "fixed post, flexible post and part-time post" to recruit talents, and has now established a team of part-time researchers with more than 80 people.
