Where is the Family Education Promotion Law?
The Family Education Promotion Law is in the second chapter of Laozi's Tao Te Ching. The second chapter of Laozi's Tao Te Ching says that saints do nothing, teach no words, do nothing without doing anything, live without doing anything, do nothing without doing anything, and succeed in life. The inaction mentioned here is to let go of selfish desires and do things with a purpose. A few short sentences show that the true meaning of education is not to teach by example, but to lead children to grow up with wordless actions and the power of example. As parents, we can't educate our children's daily behavior with a purpose, nor should we manipulate their growth in order to realize their will and ideals.
