The national ranking of Heilongjiang University is 1 18, and Heilongjiang Province ranks fourth. In the soft science ranking of China University in 2020, Heilongjiang University ranked fifth in the whole country and fifth in the whole province.

Although the ranking can't fully reflect the strength of Heilongjiang University, Heilongjiang University, as a "double non-"university, ranks close to the top 100 or even more than 2 1 1 in the alumni association and soft science rankings, which shows that the comprehensive strength of the university is very good.

Heilongjiang University, referred to as HLJU, is located in the northern ice city of Harbin. It is a key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province.
