Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, referred to as "Li Jiang" for short, was founded in 1958 as Jiangxi Institute of Metallurgy, and changed its name to Southern Institute of Metallurgy in 1988, and changed its name to Jiangxi University of Science and Technology in 2004.
