The College of Liberal Arts attaches great importance to the exploration and reform of teaching methods and contents. College teachers presided over 12 provincial and school-level teaching and research reform projects. Among them, "Research and Practice of Curriculum System Reform of Literature and History Base Class of Hebei University" hosted by Han Chengwu and Tian Jianmin is a provincial-level educational reform project. Twenty-four teachers won teaching achievement awards, including five provincial and ministerial awards and one school-level award 10.

Zhan and Liu Chongde won the first prize of Hebei Teaching Achievement Award for "Based on cultural construction, integrating literature, history and philosophy, and implementing quality education in the teaching of ancient literature in China"; Liu Shuxue and Yang Baozhong's "Promoting Teaching with Scientific Research and Cultivating High-quality Innovative Talents" and Han Chengwu's "Teaching Content Reform and Teaching Method Exploration" won the second prize of Hebei Teaching Achievement Award; Liu Yukai and Tian Jianmin's "Reform and Practice of Teaching Content and Methods of Modern Literature History in China" won the third prize of Hebei Teaching Achievement Award.

Second, the teaching material construction

The College of Liberal Arts attaches importance to the selection and construction of teaching materials. The basic courses are all liberal arts textbooks designated by the Ministry of Education. Elective courses encourage high-level teachers to compile their own teaching materials. Textbooks such as Literary Criticism, College Chinese, Course of Ancient Books Arrangement, Calligraphy Art Education, and History of Contemporary Literature Debate in China have been compiled and published. Among them, Literary Criticism was designated by the Ministry of Education as "the Ninth Five-Year Key Textbook for General Higher Education of the State Education Commission".
