In the spring of 20 18, the campus enrolled 42,927 students, making it the largest university in northern Texas, the second largest university system in Texas and the fourth largest in Texas. UT Arlington has trained the third largest number of graduates in Texas, offering more than 180 bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree courses.

The Carnegie Higher Education Commission of the United States listed UT Arlington as one of the 100 universities with "R- 1: doctoral universities-the highest research activities". The Chronicle of Higher Education rated UT Arlington as one of the fastest growing public research universities in China. The World University Ranking Center ranked this university as the top 100 of the best overall institutions in the United States in 20 18.
