Southern College of Sun Yat-sen University is an independent college jointly founded by Sun Yat-sen University and Guangdong Zhujiang Investment Group with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2006. It is a multi-disciplinary full-time application-oriented undergraduate college, and was selected as a pilot college for undergraduate transformation in Guangdong Province in 20 16.
Since 20 13, the school has implemented a free transfer to a major, and since 20 15, it has implemented a complete credit system, which is a pilot university in Guangdong Province. Adhering to the "student-oriented" educational philosophy and the principle of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, the school has implemented a flexible academic system, changed the allocation mode of school teaching resources from school planning control to students' independent choice, and built an educational platform that respects students' personality development and adapts to social development.
