Yantai University (Yantai University for short) is a key comprehensive university in Shandong Province and a high-level university construction university in Shandong Province. Selected by the Ministry of Education "Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan" and "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan". The school is located in Yantai City, Shandong Province. At present, the motto of Zhang Dianchen, secretary of the Party Committee of the school, and Duan Peiyong, president of the school, is "keep your promise, seek truth from facts, be thirsty for knowledge and practice".

The school covers an area of 2 100 mu, with a building area of 1.0 1.98 million square meters. At present, there are 23 colleges, 75 research institutes, 23 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, 14 categories authorized by master's degree, and 58 undergraduate enrollment majors, covering 65,440 subjects such as literature, science, engineering, law and agriculture. The school was established in July, 1984. It was directly aided by Peking University and Tsinghua and founded by Weihai people in Yantai. In March, 20001year, with the approval of Shandong provincial government, the former Shandong Building Materials Industry School and the former Shandong Fisheries School merged into Yantai University.
