Tongji University School of Design and Creativity is developed from the Art and Design Department of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning. The College was established to better meet the needs of social, economic, technological and environmental changes for design and innovation, especially the background of the transformation from "Made in China" to "Created in China" and the mode of economic growth, the development needs of upgrading Shanghai's industrial structure, and Tongji University's discipline development strategy for sustainable development.
