Department of international politics

The Department of International Politics consists of three teaching and research sections: World Politics, International Relations and China Politics. Teachers 16, including 8 professors, 7 associate professors and lecturers 1 person. At present, there are three master's programs (international politics, international relations and the history of Chinese historiography) and two doctoral programs (international politics and international relations). International politics and international relations are key disciplines at the national level.

Main teaching contents and research directions: basic theory of international politics, history of international relations, international organizations and mechanisms, comparative politics, China politics, Taiwan Province Province, Hong Kong, Macao and overseas Chinese, Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Affairs Management

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Affairs Management was established in 1996. Diplomacy has two major directions: China diplomacy and diplomacy. There are 7 teachers, including 3 professors, 3 associate professors and lecturer 1 person.

Main teaching content and research direction: the basic theory, system and method of diplomacy, diplomatic system, diplomatic means and diplomatic practice; China's diplomatic history, China's diplomatic thought, China's foreign policy in modern times and China's diplomatic strategy; Diplomatic history, thoughts and policies of major countries.

Department of International Political Economy

The Department of International Political Economy was established in 2003. There are 4 teachers, including professor 1 person and 3 associate professors.

Main teaching contents and research directions: international political economy theory and method, international economic cooperation, comparative study of regionalization, comparative political economy, China's foreign economic relations, Asian regional political economy, China's transitional political economy, international trade, transnational investment, development and transformation, and political economy research of national competitiveness.

Department of comparative politics

The Department of Comparative Politics was established in March, 20 12, and it is the first department of comparative politics in colleges and universities in China. There are currently nine teachers.

World Institute of Socialism

The World Institute of Socialism was founded in 1994, and its predecessor was the teaching and research section of the Department of International Politics of the International Production Movement. During the period of 1997, the doctoral program of international * * * movement in our college merged with the doctoral program of science and society in Peking University Marxist Institute to form the doctoral program of scientific socialism and international * * * producer movement. There are 5 teachers in the college, including 3 professors and 2 associate professors.

Main research interests: Social Politics and Socialism in Western Europe, Social Politics and Socialism in Russian Eastern Europe, Social Politics and Socialism in China and Socialism with Chinese characteristics.

School of International Studies

The Institute of International Relations was established in 1985, mainly engaged in the research and teaching of relations between major powers and relations between China and neighboring countries. There are 6 teachers, including 2 professors, 3 associate professors and lecturer 1 person. Recruit masters and doctoral students majoring in international relations.

Main research areas: relations between the United States and East Asia, relations between major powers, international relations in Northeast Asia, security environment around China, human rights in international relations, media and international relations, and international relations theory.

Asian-African Institute

Founded in 1964, Asia-Africa College is the oldest academic institution in China to study Asia and Africa. 1998 merged with the Institute of International Relations.

The Institute of Asian-African Studies aims at regional comprehensive research in Asia and Africa, covering political, economic and international relations, as well as history, society, culture, nationality and religion of Asian and African regions and countries. The Institute has two research laboratories in Asia-Pacific, West Asia and Africa. Teachers 13, including 4 professors, 8 associate professors and lecturers 1 person. Recruit masters and doctoral students majoring in international politics.

International political studies (quarterly)

International Politics Studies is an academic journal of international politics sponsored by Peking University and edited and published by Peking University Institute of International Relations and National Institute of International Politics. Since the publication (internal distribution) of 1980, Research on International Politics has published a large number of high-level and high-quality research results on international issues inside and outside the college, and its ideological and academic influence has been expanding day by day, becoming an important academic garden for the teaching and research of international politics and international relations in China. Since 2002, it has been published at home and abroad. In 2004, it was recognized as the source periodical of China Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) by China Social Science Research and Evaluation Center of Nanjing University.

1996 after the establishment of Guo Guan college, the reference room of the former department of international politics gradually merged with the reference room of the Asian-African Institute (including the former South Asian Institute), the Institute of International Relations and the Japanese Research Center to form the reference room of the Institute of International Relations. After more than 40 years of construction and accumulation, the reference room has become a professional library focusing on collecting international politics, international relations and diplomacy, supplemented by other disciplines.

The reference room is rich in resources, with a dense bookshelf library with 6,543,800 books and an electronic reading room equipped with information facilities such as computers. At present, there are more than 465,438+0,800 books in Chinese and foreign languages and more than 65,438+0,9500 periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages, with a relatively systematic and complete collection of professional books, periodicals and materials (such as special newspaper clippings for reference materials).
