Today's Sun Yat-sen University was formed by the merger of Sun Yat-sen University and Sun Yat-sen Medical University in June 20001year.
2. South China University of Technology
South China University of Technology, referred to as "South China University of Technology", is located in Guangzhou and directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and ranks among the national "double first-class" (Class A), "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project".
South China University of Technology, formerly known as South China University of Technology, can be traced back to the first-class industrial school in Guangdong Province established in 19 18, and was formally established in 1952 during the adjustment period of national universities.
1988 changed its name. As a foundation, Institute of Technology of Sun Yat-sen University originated from National Institute of Technology of Sun Yat-sen University and was established in 193 1.

5. South China Agricultural University
South China Agricultural University, referred to as Huanong for short, is a national key university with the advantages of agricultural science and life science and featuring agricultural research in tropical and subtropical regions. It is a provincial university jointly established by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. It is a university built for the "2 1 1 Project" and a high-level university in Guangdong Province.
As of April 24th, 2020, the ranking of universities in Guangdong Province: In the 20 19 comprehensive strength ranking of China University, the top three universities in Guangdong Province are Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology and Jinan University respectively.
