Jiangsu Normal University was founded in 1952, located in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, a famous historical and cultural city in China and a thoroughfare of five provinces. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, a key university in Jiangsu Province, and an excellent school for undergraduate teaching evaluation by the Ministry of Education.

The Academy of Fine Arts of Jiangsu Normal University has five undergraduate majors: fine arts (normal), calligraphy, visual communication design, environmental design and painting. It has two master's degree authorization points in fine arts and design, and two master's degree authorization points in art and education.

The Academy of Fine Arts has an art building with a building area of 1.55 million square meters, with complete facilities, including Jiangsu comprehensive multi-media training center for art design, modern multimedia classroom, Apple computer room, microcomputer room, Korean portrait art research institute, art education research institute, sculpture research institute, epigraphy art research institute, visual communication design research institute, craft modeling laboratory, Chinese painting copying room, art exhibition hall, art collection museum and art design center.

There are also 400 square meters of art reading room and 1200 square meters of Jiangsu Normal University Art Museum, which provide excellent conditions for teachers and students to work, study and create.
