Legal basis: Regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) Municipality on Household Registration.
Article 2 Both China people and China citizens shall register their household registration in accordance with the provisions of these Regulations.
The accounts of military personnel shall be handled by military organs in accordance with the relevant provisions on the administration of military personnel.
These Regulations shall apply to the household registration of foreigners and stateless persons living in People's Republic of China (PRC), except as otherwise provided by laws and regulations.
Article 13 When citizens move, they shall report to the household registration authority for registration of household registration, and the city shall submit the certificate of household registration within three days and the countryside within ten days.
Citizens who have no migration documents shall report to the household registration authority where they move in with the following documents:
(a) demobilized soldiers, the county and city military service organs or military service organs at or above the regimental level issued documents;
(2) Overseas Chinese and returned students shall show their passports or entry certificates of the People's Republic of China;
(3) A person released by a people's court, a people's procuratorate or a public security organ shall issue a certificate from the releasing organ.
Eighteenth citizens to change their names, in accordance with the following provisions:
(a) when a person under the age of 18 needs to change his name, his parents or adopters shall apply to the household registration authority for registration of change;
(two) when a person who has reached the age of eighteen needs to change his name, he shall apply to the household registration authority for registration of change.
