The latest university rankings in 2023
(June 9th), QS Education Group officially released the ranking of world universities in 2023. This year, 14 18 institutions from different countries and regions in the world were listed. Among them, there are 106 universities in China * * *, including 7 universities in mainland China, 7 universities in Hong Kong, 2 universities in Macau and 26 universities in Taiwan Province Province.

In this ranking, Peking University ranks the highest in China (Mainland China), rising 6 places to 12, which is the highest ranking of QS World University Rankings since its establishment in 2004. Tsinghua University rose three places, ranking 14, setting the highest ranking in the history of QS world university ranking.

Among the major universities, MIT ranked first in the world for the eleventh consecutive year, Cambridge University ranked second in the world, and Stanford University ranked third. The top three universities in Asia are: National University of Singapore world ranking 1 1, Peking University surpassed Nanyang Technological University for the first time, ranking second in Asia and world ranking12; Tsinghua University ranks third in Asia with a world ranking of 14.

Different from previous years, QS uses six indicators to compile this ranking:

1. Academic reputation (40%): Based on the questionnaire feedback of more than 15 1 1,000 scholars.

2. Employer's reputation (10%): Based on the feedback from more than 99,000 employers on the relationship between universities and graduates' employability.

3. Number of citations of teachers' papers (20%): to measure the research influence, it is obtained by dividing the total number of citations of university research papers by the number of teachers in the school in five years.

4. Teacher-student ratio (20%): represents the teaching scale, which is obtained by dividing the number of students by the number of teachers, so that the global student community can refer to the class size of the selected university and other indicators.

5. Proportion of international teachers (5%): one of the two internationalization indicators of QS, which measures the proportion of non-native teachers in universities.

6. Proportion of international students (5%): The second of the two internationalization indicators of QS measures the proportion of non-native students in a university, and can also show the university's ability to attract global talents.

This year, QS also added two new unweighted indicators:

7. Employment score (0%): used to evaluate students' employability.

8. International research network (0%): analysis of international research cooperation and knowledge transfer.

Fudan University ranks 34th in the world, down 3 places from last year; Zhejiang University ranks 42nd in the world, up 3 places from last year; Shanghai Jiaotong University ranked 46th in the world, up 3 places from last year; China University of Science and Technology ranks 94th in the world, up 4 places from last year.
