1. research direction of digital drive control and power saving technology: mainly study the signal detection technology, data processing method and system composition of intelligent control AC DC speed regulation system, servo system, electric traction system and motion control system, and the practical application of power saving control technology.

2. Research direction of servo control and tracking technology: mainly study the control theory, method and application technology of new power electronic devices, PWM power drive source composed of IGBT, computer control of digital power drive system, and power electronic energy-saving conversion technology. It is an interdisciplinary subject that integrates the latest achievements of electromechanical energy conversion and electromechanical integration equipment.

3. Research direction of power conversion technology and new energy development: engaged in new power conversion circuit design, development and utilization of wind, light and electric new energy, motor vehicle inverter control technology, multilevel inverter device, filter compensation and grid-connected switch control, power grid operation protection technology and energy-saving management system research.

4. Research direction of transmission system modeling and intelligent optimization control: modern control theory, sensor fusion technology and integrated comprehensive energy-saving method are adopted to engage in comprehensive measurement and control of production process objects such as machinery, electric vehicles, rail transit and program-controlled equipment drivers, process system identification, model establishment, control system design, prediction analysis and energy-saving optimization.

5. Wind-solar hybrid power generation and grid-connected technology: study the technical problems related to grid-connected operation of wind-solar hybrid power generation, that is, study the influence of adding wind-solar new energy devices to grid-connected power generation on the power flow distribution, power quality and stability of the whole system. Study the generation and operation planning method that can consider the characteristics of wind power, re-evaluate the power generation reliability of the system, analyze the capacity reliability of wind power, and study new reactive power dispatching and voltage control strategies.

6. Micro-motor and its control: mainly study servo motor, tachogenerator, stepping motor, synchro, resolver, permanent magnet brushless DC motor, single-phase AC series motor, doubly salient motor, linear motor, ultrasonic motor and their drive control system.

7. Electrical theory and new technology: study the fault diagnosis technology of large complex electrical equipment. Including the research of data acquisition and processing technology of large electrical equipment, the establishment of mathematical model, the research of monitoring and intelligent diagnosis technology, the negative influence of modern power converter and its countermeasures, the theory and application technology of new low-pollution and high-efficiency power conversion, etc.
