1, studying in Brown
Brown University, located in Providence, Rhode Island, USA, was founded in 1764. The campus is located on a small slope called "College Hill" in the east of Providence. Most of the buildings on campus are simple and elegant Victorian buildings. The school is mainly composed of undergraduate college, graduate school, medical college, engineering college and public health college.
Brown University is most famous for its free undergraduate "Open Teaching Program". All courses at Brown University can be chosen by students themselves. Undergraduate students do not have compulsory courses in the first two years after entering school, but only need to develop freely according to their own interests, and then determine their professional direction at the end of the second year. To get a bachelor's degree from Brown University, you only need to meet four points: first, complete at least 30 credits; Second, determine the professional direction to complete the professional compulsory courses; Third, prove your writing ability; Fourth, complete the registration for eight semesters. (Other external subjects will not appear on the report card. )
The above is the syllabus for undergraduates. In fact, Brown University is quite free for graduate students. Take myself as an example. In the first semester of Brown University, in addition to the two compulsory courses in this major, I can also take one course in other departments. After I decide on a postgraduate tutor, I can choose at least one course I am interested in every year on the premise that the tutor does not object. As far as I know, students around me basically have to take one or two courses every semester, but in fact they only need to complete eight credits of a major to get a master's degree in this direction, so after five years of doctoral study, many people will get a second master's degree outside their major. In addition, the graduate school also has a project to fund doctoral students to participate in another master's program. For details, please poke here to open graduate education, and several students around me will help to choose computer or biochemistry majors.

2. Eat brown
Brown's school canteen is a bit unpalatable and full of food. Fortunately, there is a commercial street in the middle of the school-Thayer Street, with restaurants of various styles on both sides, from La Creperie to Chipotle (Bajas), American Chinese food (Shanghai), Greek food (Andreas), American food (Paragon) and pizza (Antonio). Pancake), Indian food (kebab and curry), Korean food (Soban), hamburger (BBC), ice cream (frozen yogurt, Ben&; Jerry), to Subway, etc., as well as Starbucks, Au bon pain, Blue State and other coffee shops, everyone can basically get what they want. In fact, if you have time and interest, there are many choices in a place a little far from the school. For example, Welland Square, Wickenden Street and downtown have many wonderful Japanese and Korean cuisines, French cuisines, Ethiopian and Peruvian cuisines. (I hereby recommend Los Andes restaurant, which ranks the Top 100 in the United States on Yelp, focusing on Peruvian and Bolivian cuisine. Lobster paella is a must, but unfortunately there is no alpaca meat to eat. )

Step 3 play in brown clothes
Generally speaking, the brown atmosphere is more relaxed and free. When the weather is fine, there are always groups of people chatting and sunbathing together on the main lawn. There are a little more parties at school. The fun is the annual spring weekend concert and the campus dance before graduation. In the exam week of each semester, there will be an orchestra playing music step by step to comfort everyone in the library, and there will be a fun naked doughnut run, and naked men and women will give doughnuts to everyone. There is a non-profit graduate center bar in the school, mainly for Brown students. In my spare time, I often drink and chat with my friends, play billiards and play darts.
In terms of movies, there is a small cinema dedicated to showing art films on Searle Street, and there is an IMAX cinema in the downtown shopping center. If you go shopping, there are some sporadic shops on Searle Street, and there are also many specialty stores in the mall.
I almost forgot to introduce it-fire and water, the most famous activity in Urumura. Every year from early summer to late autumn, there will be bonfires, concerts and night markets in the canals running through the city. I always feel that fire and water are like a beautiful woman. The crackling sound of pine burning seems to be her humming, the caressing heat seems to be her breathing, and the faint smell of smoke is her body fragrance. Sitting on the shore is like snuggling up to her. At this time, I will feel that Urumura is actually a place suitable for love. Well, that's beside the point. . . )
Generally speaking, Urumura is a livable city and Brown is a free school.
