History of Hiroshima University
On May 3 1949 and 3 1 day, according to the Japanese National School Establishment Law, a new national university was established, including the old Hiroshima University of Arts and Sciences, Hiroshima Higher Education University, Hiroshima Institute of Technology, Hiroshima Teachers College, Hiroshima Women's Teachers College, Hiroshima Youth Teachers College and Hiroshima Municipal Institute of Technology. It is composed of liberal arts, education, politics, economy and science. The opening ceremony of Hiroshima University was held at 1950. Chen Nan Morito, the first president, announced the establishment of a "free and peaceful university".

In April 2004, the national university was established, and in April 2006, the university began to teach in an all-round way. Now it has 1 1 department, 1/research department, 1 specialist department,1affiliated hospital. In addition, there are 23 research institutions, educational research facilities and 5 bases of "2 1 century national key scientific research project (COE)", including the Institute of Atomic Bomb and Radiology, the Research Center for the Development of Higher Education, the Research Center for Nanodevice Systems and the Research Center for Radiology.

In order to create a better campus environment, 1972, Hiroshima University decided to move its campus from Hiroshima to East Hiroshima. By March, 1995, all departments except medical and dental specialties had successfully moved to East Hiroshima. By 2003, the number of undergraduate graduates had exceeded one hundred thousand.
