Zhu, a junior at Harvard University, said:
"I am about to become a junior party, and I spent half my college time at Harvard. A feeling of nostalgia haunts me. Anyway, this is a good opportunity for me to reflect on myself. Daily plan (things to do every day), I didn't enter Google calendar, I used a paper calendar. I divide the paper into six areas, occupying one area every day, so that what I have to do every day can correspond to the corresponding area. This is my weekly plan. I'll write down my plan in my notebook first, and then cross out one thing after I finish it. This process gives me a strange sense of satisfaction. I can really feel the time spent on campus every day. "
As top scholars, how do Harvard people arrange and spend their week? Continue to listen to top student Zhu's description from three aspects: study, extracurricular and social interaction:
1, daily study and life
Last semester, I took four standard academic courses
In general, the first three days of the week are relatively relaxed and happy. My classes are all scheduled for Thursday. What kind of day is this? Feel for yourself. Then on Friday, it was released for free.
I roughly summed it up: a week, the time for attending classes is 12 and a half hours, and the time for honestly staying in the classroom is 12 hours. It takes about 30 to 40 hours to finish a mid-term homework that can be done at home, about 10 hours to finish the rest of the course, and more than 10 hours to read after class.
If it is a relaxing week, the class time may be only 20~30 hours or even less. However, if there is a mid-term exam and due in a week, you will be overwhelmed by a mountain of homework and your busy state will be doubled. ...
2. Rich extracurricular activities
More specifically, I participated in five extracurricular activities this week, namely:
1. Contribute to the magazine website. Her website is suitable for college girls to read online. Because I plan to publish an article on this website next week. So this week I finished writing an article entitled "Seven Things Learned in Senior Two".
2. Attend university committee meetings. That sounds great, right? Actually, this is a university committee organized by students. Although I can't attend the rescheduled board meeting on Monday, I can still attend the Committee meeting on Thursday, the social meeting on Friday and the normal board meeting on Sunday night.
3. Join a club. This is an entertainment activity. In the club, we can practice hockey and play basketball. But I chose one of the sports that I need to take the exam (guess which one? )
4. Establish Harvard Consulting Company. This consulting company aims to provide a platform for high school graduates from all over the world to apply for universities, and students can also get some resources and information from it. Sometimes I get a call from several prospective students, mainly to answer their questions in the application process and give them some guidance at the same time. At the same time, I will also deal with some background work to make the whole consulting company run normally. Starting a business is really difficult!
5. Contribute to Harvard Political Website. Harvard Political Review is a non-partisan political quarterly. At that time, I was engaged in venture capital research and wrote an article "From Silicon to Gold: Harvard Venture Capital".
Generally speaking, every semester you will choose the club you want to join according to your interests. But Harvard students usually only join a few clubs (1~3), work hard and play the role of leaders, so they naturally have the leadership ability that ordinary students lack.
Step 3 be busy socializing
1. In retrospect, I usually have eight meals with my friends.
I will set aside eight meals to eat with my friends. Four of them were just for me, and the other four dinners were sometimes changed to the next week. Usually I only eat two meals a day. I prefer to eat with my friends, but if I am in a hurry, I won't eat.
If I encounter some unplanned social activities, I will not go, sometimes because I always try my best to fulfill my previous promises. Sometimes I miss it because I have to prepare for some midterm exams. However, there is one exception that has impressed me so far. It was on a Saturday night, and I attended a dance party. Do you want to know why I went? Haha ~ I want to support my best friend!
From Friday to Saturday, I plan to attend 8 parties. The four of them, I'm just a participant. In order to decompress myself, I will go out to play twice a week, otherwise, I may go crazy.
I also stayed up for many nights, sometimes until I could watch the sunrise directly through the window. However, I remember one weekend, I tried to work late in the canteen, but I met a friend and talked until 5 am.
No matter how busy I am, I always remind myself to leave some time for the people I care about and care about in my life. When I deeply recall my lost college life, these are my most cherished moments.
After watching the daily life of a typical Harvard student, I finally understand why students in famous American schools generally lack sleep.
Because between study, socialization and sleep, you can only choose two out of three, and you can't have less study and socialization, so you can only sacrifice sleep; Understand why Harvard can get the first place in the rankings because the students here are full of ideals and fight for them; Why do so many people list Harvard as their ideal school? Because dealing with excellent people will make you better!
