South China Agricultural University is a national key university, a "2 1 1 engineering" university jointly established by Guangdong Province and the Ministry of Agriculture, and a key construction university of high-level universities in Guangdong Province. The campus is located in Guangzhou, known as the "Flower City", with a total land area of 8 199 mu, including 4,395 mu of Tianhe Wushan Campus and 3,804 mu of Zengcheng Teaching and Research Base. The total construction area of the school is 6.5438+0.39 million square meters.

By 2022 10, the school has developed into a comprehensive university with the advantages of agricultural science and life science, and the coordinated development of agriculture, engineering, literature, science, economics, management, law and art. It has been identified by the Ministry of Education as a "national graduate employment typical experience university" and a pilot university for comprehensive reform of "three rounds of education".
