Zhongshan Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. It is a secondary college affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University and one of the first university medical schools established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health.
Zhongshan Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University was formerly known as Ji Bo yiguang founded by 1866, Guangdong Guanghua yiguang founded by 1908, and Guangdong Public yiguang founded by 1909. 1953 and 1954 merged to form South China Medical College; 1956, renamed Guangzhou Medical College.
1957, renamed Zhongshan medical college; 1985, renamed as Zhongshan medical university; 200 1, 10, the former Sun Yat-sen University and Sun Yat-sen Medical University merged into the new Sun Yat-sen University, and Sun Yat-sen Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University was established.
As of March 20 15, Zhongshan Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University has 1 national key disciplines (two disciplines), 1 national key training disciplines (two disciplines), 1 Guangdong key disciplines (first-class disciplines) and 1 Guangdong key disciplines (two disciplines). There are 5 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degree, 6 first-level disciplines authorized for master degree, 4 doctoral degree authorization points 14 and 7 master degree authorization points 17.
Conditions for running the School of Medicine of Sun Yat-sen University:
As an important part of the School of Medicine of Sun Yat-sen University, Medical College has inherited the excellent tradition of running a school and developed in parallel with Zhongshan Medical College of Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen University. While strengthening the traditional mainstream disciplines, it also lays out frontier and emerging cross fields to promote the integration of basic and clinical medical disciplines.
The college will host or participate in the construction of a complete biomedical research platform, including experimental animal center, biosafety laboratories (including high-level biosafety laboratories of Grade II, III and IV), structural biology platforms such as histology and bioinformatics platforms, frozen electron microscopy, optical imaging and various molecular and cell biology facilities.
The discipline development of the College will adhere to the international academic frontier, the major national strategic needs and the national and regional economic and social development, and further improve the overall level of medical science in Sun Yat-sen University through the construction of "big team, big project and big platform".
