University of Melbourne, a public research university founded in 1853, is located in Melbourne, Australia. He is also a member of Pacific Rim University Alliance, Asia-Pacific International Trade Education and Research Alliance, International University Climate Alliance, eight university alliances between association of commonwealth universities and Australia, a certified member of AACSB and EQUIS, a founding member of Universitas2 1 University Alliance and the seat of its secretariat.

In the early days of Melbourne University, a large number of Gothic revival buildings were built. Joseph Reid was a famous architect in his early days. He is responsible for designing most of the early buildings on campus. This architectural style was abolished in 1930 and replaced by a new house-style building, which is the reason why the architectural styles of universities are mixed today.

The main campus of the University of Melbourne is located in Parkville, the northern part of Melbourne Central Business District, the capital of Victoria, covering an area of 22.5 hectares. Its classical bell tower, quadrangle and modern teaching building complement each other.
