Our school has a long history in crop cultivation and farming. The first master's degree was admitted 1959, the master's degree was authorized 1983, and the doctoral degree was authorized 200 1. The discipline is now the key construction discipline in the second phase of the key discipline "2 1 1 Engineering" in Sichuan Province. The equipment of the project is advanced, including photosynthetic measurement system, automatic nitrogen determinator, grain quality analyzer, root monitoring system and other advanced instruments. Plant pathology is one of the key disciplines in the "2 1 1" project of Sichuan Agricultural University, which has good postgraduate training conditions and command strength. Since 1984 obtained the master's degree, this discipline has trained a large number of high-tech talents for the society. There are currently 0/0 tutors/kloc, including 6 professors (including researchers), 3 reserve candidates for provincial academic and technical leaders, and 2 doctoral tutors in related majors. This subject has achieved fruitful results in the fields of plant disease resistance mechanism, fungal resources and classification, fruit tree virus disease control, biological control, molecular plant pathology and so on. Tutors generally undertake major scientific research projects at or above the provincial level and have sufficient scientific research funds. There are 4 general laboratories for graduate students, including comprehensive laboratory 1 and molecular plant pathology laboratory 1, equipped with high-speed freezing centrifuge, PCR instrument, ultrapure water system, gel imaging system, digital microscopic image system, enzyme-linked immune system and other instruments and equipment.

The discipline of agricultural insects and pest control in Sichuan Agricultural University is an important secondary branch of plant protection discipline, which mainly studies the occurrence and development law of agricultural insects and other harmful animals and their control theory and technology, and provides effective guarantee for the sustainable development of pollution-free food, green food and agriculture. Using the theory and technology of cell and molecular biology, the damage mechanism, mutation law and plant resistance of agricultural pests were discussed from the microscopic level. Macroscopically, using the principles and methods of system engineering, the pest monitoring system of agricultural ecosystem was established.
