The Second Military Medical University, the full name of which is "China People's Liberation Army Second Military Medical University", is a national key medical university directly under the General Logistics Department of China People's Liberation Army to train medical professionals and health management cadres for the army, and it is also one of the key construction institutions of the national "2 1 10 Project".
The Second Military Medical University was founded in September 1949, and it is called "People's Medical College of East China Military Region". 1950 was renamed as Shanghai Military Medical University; 1951July was officially named as the second military medical university.

The former Fourth Military Medical University was formerly the Health School of the Northwest Military Region of the Eighth Route Army, which was founded in 194 1. Founded in 194 1, 1948+0 1 Entering Xi, it was renamed People's Medical College of Northwest Military Region and First Military Medical College of China People's Liberation Army. 1952 10, which was named the Fourth Military Medical University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army by order of the Central Military Commission.
