School of Law originated from the Department of Social Sciences established in 1985. 1997 the department of social sciences added the undergraduate major of economic law (later unified as the undergraduate major of law) and established the law teaching and research section. 20 12 the college of humanities and social sciences added an undergraduate major in intellectual property and established an intellectual property department. 20 14 The School of Humanities and Social Sciences was renamed Law School.

There are 30 faculty members in the Law School, including 26 full-time teachers. The college has two undergraduate majors, law and intellectual property, with 500 undergraduates. At present, there are nearly 100 graduate students who have the right to award master's degrees in first-class disciplines of law and master's degrees in law. The college has two school-level teaching teams specializing in law, 1 mock trial with advanced facilities that can accommodate more than 400 people, 1 modern intellectual property laboratory. It has successively signed agreements with Qilihe District People's Court, Lanzhou Intermediate People's Court, Baiyin Intermediate People's Court, Anning District People's Court, Gansu Intellectual Property Affairs Center, Gansu Jiayun Law Firm, Gansu Ren Hao Law Firm and Shanghai Botuo Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd., and established a number of relatively stable practice teaching bases. The completion of the team and base provides the necessary hardware guarantee for improving students' professional practical skills and strengthening their professional awareness. The college attaches importance to the CET-4 and CET-6, postgraduate examination, judicial qualification examination and students' academic training and legal practice activities.
