China Pharmaceutical University, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is a multidisciplinary key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), co-founded by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It is a national "double-first-class" construction university and a national "21/project" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform".

It has been selected into the national "11/plan", the "excellent engineer education and training plan" of the Ministry of Education, the national undergraduate innovation experiment plan, the national undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training plan, the national postgraduate plan for building a high-level university, the national new engineering research and practice project, and the lead unit of the Sino-US pharmaceutical college alliance.

The school was founded in 1936, formerly known as the National College of Pharmacy (four-year undergraduate program), and it is the first pharmaceutical college founded by the state in China. 1937 moved back to Hankou, 1938 moved back to Chongqing and 1946 moved back to Nanjing. 1950 was renamed East China Pharmaceutical College.

1952 The Department of Pharmacy of cheeloo university merged with the Department of Pharmacy of Soochow University, and East China College of Pharmacy was established. 1953 pharmacy major of central south health college was merged into the school. 1956 was renamed Nanjing Pharmaceutical College.

1986 merged with Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to form China Pharmaceutical University. In 2000, the school was transferred from the State Administration of Pharmaceutical Products to the Ministry of Education. 200 1 Jiangsu pharmaceutical school merged into the school.
