The college entrance examination generally takes four subjects, which are divided into Chinese, mathematics, English and science/literature. The general examination time is 2 or 3 days.

Applicable areas: most provinces and cities

"3" means "Chinese, Mathematics and Foreign Languages" and "X" means that students can choose one of the two comprehensive subjects as an examination subject according to their own wishes. This program is the most widely used and mature college entrance examination program in China in 20 19. The total score is 750 (language 150, mathematics 150, foreign language 150, liberal arts/science 300).

2. "3+3" scheme

Applicable areas: Shanghai, Zhejiang, Beijing, Shandong, Tianjin, Hainan and other six provinces and cities.

Reform time: Shanghai and Zhejiang began to implement the reform for senior one students who entered school in the autumn of 20 14, and Beijing, Shandong, Tianjin and Hainan began to implement the reform for senior one students who entered school in the autumn of 20 17.

The first "3" means that Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages are three compulsory subjects, and the second "3" means that you can choose three subjects from six subjects: physics, history, politics, geography, biology and chemistry.

Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages are included in the total score with the original scores, while physics, history, politics, geography, biology and chemistry are included in the total score with the conversion of grades.

Shanghai English is tested twice a year, with the highest score. Zhejiang Province selected three subjects from seven subjects: politics, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology and technology, and scored the selected subjects.

3. "3+1+2" scheme

Applicable areas: Hebei, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Chongqing and other 8 provinces and cities.

Reform time: It will be implemented from the students of Grade One in Senior High School who entered school in the fall of 20 18.

"3" means that Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages are compulsory, "1" means that physics and history are compulsory, but only one of the two subjects can be selected, and "2" means that two subjects are randomly selected from politics, geography, biology and chemistry for study.
