During the 2300-word holiday, I returned to my hometown of xx County and started my first social practice in college life. In order to enhance their resilience, get close to and understand the most vulnerable groups in society, and bring them enthusiasm and help from students of Jilin University, I chose the social practice place of the nursing home in xx county, which is the comprehensive service center for the disabled in xx county. It is here that I deeply feel the significance of voluntary service in contemporary universities. Although I am a little tired this week, I feel that I have realized my own value, which reflects the good characteristics of our college students' willingness to help others and actively participate in social practice. I have won praises from people around me, and I still feel particularly fulfilled.
Xx county nursing home is the largest nursing home under the jurisdiction of the county civil affairs bureau. The old people here are all lonely, and most of them are too old to move. They are eager for more social care. My appearance suddenly enlivened the slightly silent nursing home. Especially the childless old people who were over those years, when I affectionately called them grandparents, they cried with excitement. My hand is just held by them, and it hurts a little to listen to them chanting "good boy" with a smile. From the first day of my internship, I was moved by this group of old people. As soon as I went, an old woman dragged me to her place to eat some watermelon first. Every old man treats me as his own child, which really excites me. I learned from the dean that several groups of college students come here to volunteer every year, and the old people like the way young people serve the society. I thought the old man took his party card and told me excitedly that the party's policies were good and the state took care of it to have such a comfortable life today.
In order to better complete this practical task, I also specially asked my classmates in my hometown to help me complete this practical task. Before the internship began, I first looked for the director of the nursing home and learned about the specific age and living conditions of the lonely elderly in our hospital. The dean told us that almost all the elderly living in our hospital are over 70 years old, and most of them are physically disabled with different degrees of disability. We also found this problem in the actual construction process. Mobility has become the biggest obstacle to their lives. I feel very sad to see this situation. Without much greeting, I quickly helped them. Let's start with an old man who is completely paralyzed. He is too hot to move and his body is sour. I wiped him with a washed towel and chatted with him. I know there are no nursing staff in the nursing home, and his life depends on himself. People like him also depend on everyone's help. Seeing that his room was in a mess, I helped him clean up, emptied his urinal, washed it clean, cleaned it carefully, and opened the window to disperse the smell. When I was busy, I accidentally saw the old man wiping his tears. He choked up and said that he had no children and had never seen a child take care of him like me. I smiled and told him that I was a student of xx University and I came to volunteer to help everyone. I am your child here, and we should repay the country and train our college students.
In the next few days, I met everyone. Every time I first entered the nursing home, everyone gathered around. That kind feeling is the most important wealth I have gained in this social practice. In just a few days, I became everyone's child. Grandparents in nursing homes have also become my close relatives. This is what I thought of grandpa again. "You are here, you don't want to help us. As long as you can come, you are a good boy and deserve praise. " But what I think is that these sincere words of these lonely old people actually deeply express their expectations for more care and hope to get more spiritual comfort.
In fact, this also exposes the deep-seated problems of rural old-age care in China. Although the country has developed and the people's living standards have been greatly improved on the whole, this special social group has made due contributions to the development of our country and social progress when it was young, but their helplessness in their later years prevented them from enjoying the benefits of social progress to the maximum extent. I see that grass-roots governments are paying more and more attention to people's livelihood and starting to improve the living conditions of the elderly year by year. I learned from my aunts and grandfathers in nursing homes that more government subsidies can be obtained in recent years. The living standard of nursing homes has also been greatly improved. Previously, due to economic conditions, there were few meat dishes in the canteen of nursing homes, and the food was monotonous. In the past two years, it is not only a problem to eat meat, but also to give jiaozi to the old people on holidays. When the old people said this, they all showed satisfied smiles. At noon, I went to the restaurant to have a look. Everyone eats in an orderly way, talking and laughing, and life is very peaceful.
Not only did the living allowance increase, but the old people also told me that the medical and health conditions have also improved greatly. This year, the government sent a new young doctor to the nursing home, which made it more convenient for everyone to see a doctor. And give everyone a free physical examination every year. Everyone gave a thumbs up and praised the current government for doing practical things for the people.
In this practice, I specially helped several paralyzed elderly people living in our hospital within my power. I saw their dry buckets indoors, so I went to the house to help them fill them with water. They can't move normally, help them wipe their bodies and talk to them, because they can't walk, and they are particularly interested in what is happening outside. I told them interesting stories about my college days. Although communication is difficult, the old people are still so satisfied. I think my practice is very meaningful. It was because of their dependence on me that I took the initiative to find the dean and asked to change the original three-day internship plan to one week. The dean readily agreed.
What moved me very much in this practice was the spirit of helping each other among the old people. Old people with limited mobility in the yard help get food and water, and also help clean up the house. Several careful aunts also go out from time to time to buy some fruits and distribute them to those who can't move. There are also old people who rely on their own strength to open up a small vegetable garden in the open space of the yard. The old people said, "Idle is idle, growing vegetables, and everyone eats fresh."
Nevertheless, I found some problems in the nursing home. I also put forward my own suggestions to nursing homes and higher-level civil affairs departments.
1, some dormitory arrangements are unreasonable, and many elderly people are inconvenient to move, but the dormitory they live in is far from the bathroom, and even an 80-year-old man with poor eyesight is arranged on the second floor; I reflected this problem to the dean, who said that he felt it was unreasonable, but the old people moved early and moved late, and the old people living on the first floor were unwilling to move to the second floor. I discussed with an uncle who lives on the first floor and finally persuaded him to exchange bedrooms with his uncle on the second floor. On the day I left, they communicated smoothly, and the dean promised to adjust other unreasonable arrangements.
2. There is a serious shortage of nursing staff in nursing homes. Although all the nursing homes where I practice have doctors, there are no specialized nursing staff. This has become the biggest defect of nursing homes. In such a nursing home, there is no nurse to serve the elderly, and the elderly with mobility difficulties can only rely on themselves. In this way, the elderly lack professional nursing staff and their lives are hard to be guaranteed. After consulting with the dean, I wrote a statement to the county civil affairs bureau, which has negotiated to deal with this long-neglected problem.
3. Dormitory hardware facilities are backward and incomplete. The most prominent problem is water supply. Old people who are nearly eighty years old have to go to a restaurant 200 meters away to fetch water by themselves. The safety of the elderly who slipped on the road in rainy days was not guaranteed, and the fire prevention facilities in the nursing home were incomplete. Only five fire extinguishers were found in the whole nursing home, all of which were placed on the second floor, but not on the first floor. The dean explained that the first floor was not put down because it was more convenient to get water than the second floor. I told the dean that it was a big security risk. If there is a fire on the first floor and there is no fire extinguisher, the consequences will be unimaginable. In this regard, the dean also agreed that as long as the next civil administration funding, this problem will be solved first.
Although the material life of nursing homes has improved in recent years, the spiritual life of the old people is very scarce. I think this is also the most urgent thing to be solved. Although each ward has a large TV set, it has been in disrepair for many years and cannot be played. I directly reported this situation to the county civil affairs office, hoping to help the elderly repair the TV, and then arrange movies to go to the countryside to enter the nursing home, so as to enliven the cultural atmosphere of the nursing home. I also suggest that the Dean subscribe to more copies of China Daily and Qilu Evening News for circulation, and arrange for the elderly with literacy and good eyesight to read newspapers for everyone regularly, so that life will not be too monotonous.
In the process of practice, I conducted a survey on several nearby township nursing homes and found that there were similar problems. There is only one nursing home built by two towns and two villages, and the living standard of the elderly is relatively high. After summing up the above problems, I wrote a letter of recommendation to the county civil affairs bureau, hoping to do my part to improve the lives of the elderly. In the process of practice, I thought about the problems existing in rural old-age care in China. In China's rural areas, family pension still bears an important responsibility. However, with the increase of the actual cost of providing for the aged, there are actually great obstacles to the improvement of farmers' living standards, and the rural endowment insurance around me has not been fully implemented, and rural endowment needs to be institutionalized and standardized. There is still a long way to go to achieve this step.
In this practice, I cultivated the mentality of being close to the society and grateful to the society, exercised my adaptability, strengthened the habit of helping others, realized the importance of college students' social practice, and established good friendship with the old people in nursing homes, making my holiday more substantial and meaningful.
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Dean Lin and the residents of the nursing home in xx county for helping me complete this summer practice task, and wish the old people in the nursing home in xx good health and happy life.
Volunteer activities in nursing homes experience 2300 words xx xx morning xx young volunteers went to nursing homes for condolence activities.
With the warm sunshine, volunteers walked into the nursing home with wonderful programs, clean tools, sincere smiles and sincere greetings, visited the elderly there and talked with them. The old people smiled kindly, just like the most beautiful chrysanthemum in this season, warm, gentle, sincere and kind. Chatting with the old people is my happiest thing and the happiest moment for the old people. Looking at the happy smiles of the old people, every volunteer's heart is full of sunshine, and their wish is to make the old people happy.
Autumn wind blows off leaves, but it can't blow away the enthusiasm of volunteers. Volunteers picked up their own cleaning tools and cleaned the yard for the old people. In order to prevent dust from flying everywhere, the little girls also rolled up their sleeves and sprinkled water with great interest. Of course, in the division of labor and cooperation, there will also be volunteers to make beds for the old people, clean rooms in bask in the quilt, and chat with the old people about their hometown ... The nursing home is full of volunteers' bright smiles and sincere feelings.
Clean and tidy courtyard, happy smiling face, harmonious and sweet picture are fixed in this thick autumn. Cultural programs prepared by volunteers began to be dedicated to the old people. The warm but enthusiastic opening of the host cheered the old people. The singing of a song "Mother" made people relive those warm years. Reciting the poem "Motherland, My Dear Motherland" makes the old people seem to have returned to that passionate era. The sign language performance "Like You" is novel and moving, and the sketch performance "Wish" makes the old people laugh many times and feel moved ... The old songs are repeated, and sometimes the old people start to beat.
In the service center for the elderly, several elderly people are too old to express their ideas in words. When they are too cold to reach for clothes, when they want to move to the seat next to them but can't get there because of the inconvenience of their legs and feet, their thin bodies are shaking, and the longing in their eyes and the helpless expression in reality can't help but make them cry. They used to be so strong and healthy, and once made contributions to the family and society, but they lived so tired in their later years. In the process of chatting, an old man has always had many views on his family. Listening to the old man's story, we were all silent: the children who worked hard to raise left their biological mothers in nursing homes and ignored them for the comfort and freedom of life. Tears in the corner of the old man's eyes and excited language always let us see her heartache, her helplessness and injury. Isn't there a song whose lyrics are like this: We are all one person plus another, the wall of time, from their palms to our shoulders.
Everyone is working hard and struggling for life in this rapidly developing society. However, how can this be an excuse for us to abandon the elderly? Without the efforts of the elderly, where can we get food and clothing? Without the care of the elderly, our growth is strongly protected? Without the support of the elderly, how can we stand on the foundation and strength of society? With this in mind, how can you bear to let the old man keep a picture of his bedside and miss abandoning his family in the days when he should have enjoyed his old age? Perhaps, only by seeing the tears of the old people and listening to their stories can we deeply realize how warm and happy it is to leave two and a half footprints on the beach.
At the same time, as a student majoring in administration, looking at the living conditions and environment of the elderly in the service center for the elderly, I also deeply felt the burden on me. If the government can pay more attention to the elderly who are forced to live in nursing homes, buy them clothes in time when it is cold, and send them care and companionship when they are lonely, I think there should be a smile and comfort on the faces of the elderly who are engraved with vicissitudes of life. In addition, watching the professional brothers and sisters silently observe every old man, whose name, physical condition and mental condition are well known to them. Seeing this scene, I suddenly feel full of hope: yes, although the old people have no family to accompany them, they can still have this group of young and enthusiastic young people to pay attention to and care for them. This warmth, warmth in the chest, also warms our dedication and love. With the experience and feelings of this activity, I understand more about caring for every old man around me in time. Perhaps the Datong society of "old people and old people" is still a little far away, but only by doing our best and with our heart can we avoid the sadness and regret of "children want to raise and not wait for their relatives"!
An 87-year-old woman is still full of energy. She told us retrospectively about the years during the War of Liberation and her life when she was young, and told us to cherish today's happy life. Grandma also sang an old song for us, and the volunteers gently beat the beat for the old man, quietly listening to the melody of the old man reliving the years. Finally, we ended the performance in the gentle chorus "Tomorrow will be Better" by all the members of the Youth Federation.
When our volunteers worked hard to serve the elderly, the elderly even smiled and shed tears of emotion. Looking at the smiling faces of the old people, everyone feels very sad, but our little efforts can make them so moved and make us more determined to become a volunteer! We promised them that we would visit them often.
Happy times are always so short. Two hours slipped away quietly, and it was already 1 1 p.m. It's time for the old people to eat. We should go. The students helped the old man into the dining table, told him to pay attention to his health and reluctantly left. The old people were in tears, and the volunteers also shed tears of concern.
Through this activity, the awareness of caring for and respecting the elderly has been deepened. Encouraging and advocating social groups to put their love into action has also enhanced the feelings and cooperation among volunteers, and also improved the team fighting capacity and cohesion of the Young Volunteers Association.
