Art College of Nanjing University is a combination of former Nanjing University Art Institute and Nanjing University Fine Arts Institute. Art education in Nanjing University has a long history and profound connotation. 1906, Liangjiang Normal University officially opened the course of painting and handcraft, with painting and handcraft as the main course and music as the auxiliary course. 1928, Central University established the Special Art Department of the College of Education, and Xu Beihong, who returned from France, became a professor of western painting and director of the Western Painting Group of the Art Education Department of National Central University.
