On May 4th, 2000, Beijing Medical University officially changed its name to peking university health science center.

Peking university health science center, formerly known as National Beijing Medical College, was founded on 19 12 10/0/0/October 26th. It is the first national school founded by the Ministry of Education of China Government on its own to teach western medicine.

Peking university health science center is the first batch of institutions of higher learning built by the national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project", and it is one of the most important medical innovation research bases and advanced medical and health personnel training bases in China.
