Southwest Forestry University belongs to two universities, with more than 90% employment. Its main majors are wood science and engineering, forestry, soil and water conservation and desertification control.

Southwest Forestry University is located at the intersection of Tan Hua Road and Nanyuan Road in Kunming, Yunnan Province. It is the only independent undergraduate course university in western China, with over 70 years' experience in running forestry higher education and 30 years' independent history. Southwest Forestry University 1939 originated from the Forestry Department of Yunnan University, and was renamed Southwest Forestry University in 20 10. Schools include forestry college, landscape college, material engineering college, computer and information college, etc.
