Beijing University of Technology, located in Beijing, is a multi-disciplinary municipal key university focusing on engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, art and teaching. It is a national "double-first-class" construction university, a national "2 1 1 project" construction university, and the first batch of universities in China to deepen innovation and entrepreneurship.

He was selected as a member of the Beijing-Hong Kong University Alliance, including the academic innovation and intelligence introduction program, the excellent engineer education and training program, the national postgraduate program for building a high-level university, the national new engineering research and practice project, the national undergraduate innovation experiment program, the national undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training program, and the national undergraduate cultural quality education base.

The former School of Economics and Management of Beijing Union University was merged into Beijing University of Technology, and six departments of the school were merged with the Department of Management Engineering of Beijing University of Technology to adjust to the Department of Management Engineering, the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade, and the Department of Applied Economics. So far, the whole school has 14 departments. 1993 Beijing Computer College was merged into Beijing University of Technology, and the Computer College of Beijing University of Technology was established, running in the original campus of Beijing West Third Ring Road North. 1998, moved to the headquarters and the former computer science and engineering department of Beijing University of Technology.

The computing center merged into the Computer College. In 2000, Management Cadre College of State Building Materials Bureau (Wuhan University of Technology, graduate department, Beijing), North China Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydropower, graduate department, Beijing Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power Correspondence were merged into Beijing University of Technology, and Beijing University of Technology Higher Vocational Education College and Beijing University of Technology Branch were established, all of which were institutions running schools in different places.
