North China Electric Power University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, and also a national key construction university of "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform". In 20 17, the school entered the ranks of national "double first-class" universities, focusing on the discipline construction of energy and electric power science and engineering, and started a new journey of building a world-class discipline and a high-level research university.

The school is headquartered in Beijing, with Baoding campus, and the two places implement integrated management. The school has more than 3,000 faculty members, including 24,000 full-time undergraduates and 0.2 million graduate students. The school covers an area of 1.600 mu, and the building area is 1 10,000 square meters.

The school actively participated in the construction of the national innovation system and made remarkable achievements in important fields such as new energy, UHV, smart grid, clean coal-fired power and nuclear power. At present, there are 3 national science and technology innovation platforms, 1 national international science and technology cooperation base/kloc-0, 6 academic innovation and intelligence introduction bases in colleges and universities, and 29 provincial science and technology platforms and research bases.
