Guangxi Normal University, hereinafter referred to as "Guangxi Normal University (GXNU)", located in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was founded by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and was selected into the basic capacity building project of colleges and universities in the central and western regions, the national postgraduate program for building high-level universities, the national training program of the Ministry of Education and the excellent teacher training program.

As a part of Jingjiang Wangcheng Scenic Area, a national 5A-level tourist attraction, the earliest cultural and educational center in Guangxi history is a comprehensive university with coordinated development of disciplines. The school can be traced back to the provincial Guangxi University founded by 1928 and the Guangxi Provincial Teachers College founded by 1932. Provincial Teachers College 1936 merged, and 1939 was renamed as National Guangxi University.
194 1 Rebuild Guilin Normal University, 1943 upgraded to National Guilin Normal University. 1950 merged into Guangxi University again. 1953, the former Guangxi University was closed, and Guangxi Normal University was established on the basis of some teachers and all students of teachers' professional courses in its cultural and educational colleges and science colleges. 1983 was renamed Guangxi Normal University.
