The college regularly holds activities including building science and technology festival, building model design competition, structural design competition, engineering survey field competition and so on, which effectively promotes the training and cultivation of students' professional skills. Up to 2009, the students of our college have achieved excellent results in MCM, Challenge Cup National Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, national english contest for college students and Zhou Peiyuan Undergraduate Mechanics Competition, National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Competition, Jiangsu Undergraduate Mechanics Competition, Jiangsu Undergraduate Basic Mechanics Experiment Competition, Jiangsu Surveying and Mapping Competition and other competitions, and won nearly 40 awards. There are 17 projects in our college that are listed as extracurricular academic and scientific works for college students, and 4 of them are listed as practical and innovative training programs for college students in Jiangsu Province. 1 piece of work was selected in the "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition, and three pieces of work won the special prize, the first prize and the third prize respectively in Nantong College Students' Science and Technology Innovation Competition. Three classes were commended by "advanced class collective" in provinces and cities, 14 students were commended by "excellent students" in provinces and cities, outstanding student cadres and advanced individuals in social practice, and 1 student was awarded the title of "Top Ten College Students" in Nantong University. 1 graduation design team was commended by excellent graduation design teams of universities in Jiangsu Province in 2006. Nearly 10 students published papers in journals above the provincial level, and 3 students were selected as Selected Graduates of Jiangsu Organization Department.
