Ritsumeikan University ranks third among Japanese private universities in the QS World University Ranking, and Ritsumeikan University is a top private university located in Kyoto, Japan. Formerly Ritsumeikan, it was a private school founded by Japanese politician Saionji Kinmochi in Kyoto Palace on 1869.
