Zhu and Wang Yangming have different views on the relationship between reason and knowing and doing. He believes that the relationship between knowledge and practice is complementary and goes hand in hand. Wang Yangming believes that reason lies in people's hearts, and people's hearts are full of reason. Human nature is good, people only need to constantly correct their mentality, constantly reflect, let their mentality return to the original appearance, restore their dominant position, and they can obtain the way of being a saint. He believes that the relationship between knowledge and action is one. When you haven't done something, you don't really understand it. Only when you are doing something can you understand it. Therefore, he regards knowing and doing as a process, the starting point of the cognitive process, and behavior is the concrete manifestation of cognition. Wang Yangming's understanding of the study of everything is also different from Zhu's. Zhu's understanding of knowledge is biased towards knowledge, while Wang Yangming is biased towards a kind of cognition of morality, which leads to the theory of conscience. Generally speaking, different understanding and views on rationality have led to some differences. Wang Yangming inherited Lu Jiuyuan's thought that mind is reason, and Lu Jiuyuan and Zhu also argued about the understanding of reason at that time.
