On May 4th, 1984, Peking University Alumni Association was established and became a formal national independent organization. 1992 Peking University Alumni Association was officially registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs and became an independent legal entity. 1999 after the centenary of Peking University, the alumni association established a permanent secretariat, and the alumni affairs department was located in peking university education foundation.

At the same time as the "Shelter Campaign" was launched in Wuhan, the "Million Masks Campaign" also launched the "Jingchu Campaign" and "Peking University Campaign", which were also called the "Three Major Campaigns".
