The Three Gorges University was approved by the Ministry of Education on May 25th, 2000, and was formed by the merger of the former Wuhan University of Water Resources and Electric Power (Yichang) and the former Hubei Three Gorges College. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Water Resources and Hubei Province, with 1 postdoctoral research station, 4 first-class doctoral programs, 25 first-class master programs, and 1 two disciplines master programs.
