Chengdu Jincheng College was founded in 2005, and its predecessor was Jincheng College of Sichuan University. In May, 20021,with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Jincheng College of Sichuan University was transformed into an independent ordinary institution of higher learning and renamed Chengdu Jincheng College.

Approved by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and reported to the Ministry of Education for the record, Chengdu Jincheng College has made it clear that its school-running attribute is "non-profit". The school adheres to the overall leadership of the China * * * production party, fully implements the party's educational policy, adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, adheres to the public welfare nature of education, adheres to high-quality development, and is highly responsible for teachers, students, employees and society.

At present, there are 58 undergraduate majors, 27 specialist majors and 100 professional directions, forming a school-running pattern of coordinated development of arts, engineering, economics, management and arts. Among the existing majors, Auditing (ACCA) is a batch of undergraduate enrollment majors in the province; Seven majors, including software engineering, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, marketing, journalism, communication engineering, network and new media, and finance, are "provincial first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites".
