Northeast Agricultural University, located in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, is one of the first batch of "2 1 1 project" key construction universities in China, featuring agricultural science, life science and food science, and the coordinated development of agriculture, engineering, science, economics and management. It is a university jointly established by the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province, the people of China and the Ministry of Agriculture. It is one of the first batch of pilot universities for the reform of the education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents, one of the excellent universities for undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education, and one of the 40 key universities in the "Aid Xinjiang Construction Plan" of the Ministry of Education.

1948 was founded in Harbin. The school was originally named Northeast Agricultural College, and successively belonged to the Ministry of Agriculture of Northeast Administrative Committee, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Committee of Heilongjiang Province and the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province. 198 1 was identified as a provincial key institution in Heilongjiang province, 1994 merged with Heilongjiang Agricultural Management Cadre College to form Northeast Agricultural University.
